Hello to the world!!!!

By

Hello I am so excited that I can finally talk to all of the people that contact me. My mom and I are so busy with trying to make sure we help children all over the country. I have been working on calling people for donations to help earn a trailer. I need one to store all of my toys in.

I am having so much fun answering all of the emails after I was on the OPRAH show in May. WOW, mom just told me the show is going to re-air on AUGUST 12, 2009. I am so excited.

We have been getting boxes from many people around the country full of toys. Thank you to everyone and we are sorting and organizing the toys so they can be donated.

I think the best letter and donation that I have received since the OPRAH show is from a little girl that sent me what appeared to be her life savings. My mom cried when we opened the envelope and saw change taped to a paper as well as a few folded dollar bills. Thank you so very much and I love that little girl so much.

Look for disasters in your area and let me know I will send toys to those children.

I am having so much fun making all of the kids I meet smile. This is my life mission and I hope to someday reach every child in the world!!!!

XOXOXO for now as we are off to enjoy the lake for the day

Ashlee,
I just saw the Oprah Show today and I was very impressed by your kindness and generosity that you have shown children after the suffering they have endured. My husband and I do not have children but when ever we go to an amusement park we always end up with stuffed animals, now we are trying to get rid of them but do not want to throw they out since they are new. I would like to send them to you so that you could give them to the children you help. Please contact me at the email I provided as soon as you can. Keep up the good work! If its okay with you I would like to send the Sanfilippo Family in Lykens, PA a few of the stuffed animals.

Hello Charlotte,

Actually, I went on Ashlees website to see if I could possibly help her in any way and that is where I read your note to Ashlee and was very moved by it. I could send a gift to both of your girls for their birthday’s. My email is ovhpa@aol.com, if you would like to send me a mailing address I will do my best to get it there by their birthday. What do you think they would like to have? How old are your other children? What else might you be in need of? (clothes, if so, what size, books, toys) I hope Ashlee reads this also, because I did not see an email for her either. In reading your story, I want to tell you that you are a special child of God and he has a plan for all of us. Keep your faith and you will rise above any obstacles Charlotte.

Ashlee, what an inspiration you are!!!! God Bless You! Please let me know if you can use slightly used books for the kids at my email, ovhpa@aol.com.

Blessings,
Anne Lazariciu

Hi Ashlee….way to go girl! You are a fantastic little girl and I hope you can inspire many children to do great things like you do. I told my daughters all about you and we have a bag full of real cute stuffed animals in great conditions (they are used, not new, is that ok?)that we would love to donate. Are you at all interested? Or do you have a place to suggest we donate it to? I look forward to hearing from you, in the meantime keep up the great work.
Blessings,

Ashlee,
I saw you on the news the other night. I think it’s great what you are doing for the children in Haiti, as well as other children who loose everything in disasters. I have some toys that I would like to donate. You can email me at lmazza@lifestylenv.com. Take care!

Ashlee,
I saw your article in Discovery Girls, and I thought it would be cool to check out your website and see what your Toy Closet was really about. I really love what you are doing to help the people around where you live. You are so inspiring to me, and I bet millions of other people that have heard your story.
Thanks SO much for what you do! You put smiles on kids faces, after horrible disasters reach their city. Keep it up!
I will make sure that I check your website often! :)

Hello Ashley,

Someone from WUAH told me you help out with birthdays. My sons’ birthday is Novemvber 22nd and I have nothing for him. He will be 16. He is a great kid who helped me tremendously when his nine year old sister was diagnosised with brain cancer three years ago. I lived with her in the hospital for 3 months as she relearned how to walk and talk. He often had to watch his seven year brother. I have not been able to work since, except for occassional baby sitting or pet sitting jobs. My husband works but $660 a week for a family of 5 doesn’t go far. We amassed a debt of $31,000 since her diagnosis so we are struggling to pay that off. We are Blessed that she is still alive! I just feel so awful at birthdays(we couldn’t do a birthday party for Mandy last Febuary-that hurt as she is struggling to make friends) or Christmas because I can’t provide for even there needs, forget about wants. Mandy wants an IPOD NANO but we can’t afford it. Are you able to help? I could pay something towards shipping as we live in Illinois. Please let me know if you can help. Kudos to you for doing good for others!

Thank you,
Jennifer M.

My name is Alicia and I have 5 children. We lived in a homeless shelter for awhile and are still struggling everyday. My husband found a job but it only pays $8/hour and with my SSI(i am disabled due to deafness in my left ear and major back problems)we can pay our rent and utilities and never have any thing left over for birthdays or christmas. My children would love to have something under the tree this year if you can help, we would really appreciate it. I can even send you proof of the bills and the income to show you we are truly struggling. My daughter Kaitlyn is 12 and loves tinkerbell, or craft stuff, like breclet making or painting. William, my oldest son is 11 and loves beynlades and anything to do with skateboarding. D.J. is 10 and loves star wars and batman. Tyler is 8 and loves Bakugan and beyblades. The baby John is 2 and loves monkeys and the wonderpets. My daughter had moderate MR and is mentally about 7 years old. D.J. and Tyler are both Autistic and we lost John’s twin sister, Skyler,, she was stilborn. If you can help with even 1 gift for each of them, we would really appreciate it. my email address is refuelandpoppy@yahoo.com and my mailing address is 6227 Wyndotte Road, Pensacola FL 32526. Thanks and God Bless!!!!!

There is a family in Columbus, Indiana, the Reed family. They have a 5 year old daughter and a 20 month old daughter, and they lost everything in a fire this past weekend. The family was not insured, and all of their possessions were destroyed. If you could possibly look into helping them in any way possible, I’d greatly appreciate it. Thank you so much for what you do!

Hello. My cousin and his family lost their entire home on March 6, 2011 in Oneida TN. I was hoping you could help out their 10 year little girl, Macaiah. Please e-mail me and I will send you their address of the home they are staying at now. Thank you in advance.

Thank you for helping out Ashlee! Everyone really needed you! again, thanks!

Ashlee,
My name is Amanda Cook and I live in Alabama. I read your story in a magazine several months ago. Although I was not affected, my state had several tornadoes yesterday and last night. Over a hundred and fifty people have lost their lives and several more injured. Homes and schools have been ripped to shreds and I know there are many children here who could use your help. I am sure the American Red Cross can do a lot for our misfortuned here, but I know that what you do for the children can go a long way. I appreciate any help that could be given to the northen cities of Alabama. Tuscaloosa and Athens are just a few of many. For any more information please feel free to email me. Thank you.

I have never seen you on the news. Me and my friends are amazed on how you made “Ashlee’s Toy Closet”. I am also 9 years old. :-) I am thinking about donating almost ALL my toys. I don’t play with them anymore. I have barbies and stuff to donate :-) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hope I get them to you!

Hello Ashlee,
What an amazing young woman you are! A friend of mine gave me your website today and informed me you may be able to help out my neighbors whom lost everything in a house fire last night. I have set up a donation spot at my house and am receiving lots of clothing donations for them. Now we need to work on getting the children some toys! There are 3 girls ages 3, 7, and 9, and a 1 year old boy whom has special needs(functioning level of a 6-9 month old). I was looking for an email address or phone # to contact your organization but did not find one. I am hoping this message reaches you. Anything that can be done for this family would be greatly appreciated. I hope to hear from you soon.
Regards,
Danielle

Hi Danielle!

I’m so glad you wrote to me, we are doing a toy drive for the Caughlin Fire and also for anyone who has been affected by a natural disaster. We haven’t figured out the details, but it will take place at The Laughton Company (140 Washington St. Ste. 100 Reno, NV) and also at all Sonic locations! I will send you an email as soon as we know when it starts, etc.

Thanks!
